When physicians dictate today, the data enters Epic EHR (Electronic Healthcare Record) as unstructured notes. This data can’t be reported on or used, other than for reading it in the EHR notes. This has resulted in a large amount of unstructured data being stored in the Epic EHR. The Strategic Analytics team would like to use this data in their high risk patient identification predictive algorithm.
