DataSkill CEO invited to speak at IBM Genius Conference

9/20/2017 – Captain Hook’s Breaking Speed Records – Now He’ll Explain How

DataSkill Founder and CEO Nigel Hook (AKA Captain Hook) recently broke three offshore open water speed boat records, and now the world wants to know how. On October 4th, 2017, Mr. Hook will speak on the topic of breaking speed records at one of the most anticipated senior executive technology conferences of the year – the Genius of Things Summit in Boston, MA – sponsored by IBM’s own Watson.

The Internet of Things (IoT) – from a growth perspective – is expected to surpass that of the commercial Internet of the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Defined as the networking of physical devices, vehicles, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity, which enable these objects to collect and exchange data, IoT is rapidly becoming a topic of significant interest and importance around the globe for industry enterprises looking to take their products and services to a whole new level.

Although being coined one of the most promising technological advancements in history, many small and large businesses alike are not only having trouble understanding IoT, but more importantly are having trouble positioning themselves ahead of their competition on the new IoT frontier.

DataSkill and IBM, however, have partnered together to deliver complete end-to-end IoT solutions via DataSkill’s highly intelligent machine learning and AI system, ACUMI, and IBM’s mastermind IoT engine, Watson. Together, they continue to turn various industry verticals upside down in ways never before imaginable.

Mr. Hook’s founding vision of DataSkill has been to create extraordinary value from data. Today, DataSkill – together with IBM – now solve the most vexing problems for its customers across multiple industries with highly advanced machine learning and AI technology.

Nigel’s passion for speed has driven his 30 year career in motorsports where he’s competed at the highest level of offshore power boat racing worldwide. His exceptional skills on the water earned him three World Championships, three World Speed Records and an induction into the APBA Hall of Champions. He currently races the 77 Lucas Oil SilverHook 48GP in the Superboat International unlimited class.

The 48’ SilverHook race boat has become the showcase for leading edge IoT intelligence with both Cisco and IBM Watson, which combined have integrated a winning IoT solution for DataSkill. So, who better to speak on IoT and breaking speed records than Nigel Hook?
